Riveting and outright commanding performances
Michele is no newcomer
to music. She’s been singing and performing
since the age of 5. At 7 years old she began her career in the
arts by doing numerous commercials, and voiceovers as well as spending two
years on the Broadway stage. She continued her love of the theatre through
high school and followed the desire to NYU college where she studied musical
theatre.
After graduating she took a break from theatre to focus on music. Picking
up a guitar and simply pressing any old strings, she taught herself to play.
Though she’d been writing since she was 9 she’d gotten more serious
about the craft and put together a self-produced cd.
Since then she’s
been performing on radio and in local clubs in NYC and has produced another
cd herself with an eclectic mix of styles and productions, “Not The Girl”. A
versatile writer and performer, she can rock the house with her bigger-than-her-5’-size
voice and yet sing an acoustic folk song with a quiet and beautiful intensity.
She’s
even drawn people into a club from down the block just because they heard “this
voice”. There’s no denying her voice is her biggest asset
and that her songwriting sets her apart from the rest. Though she’s
been compared to Sheryl Crow and Patti Griffin, she remains true to a style
all her own.
